Nowhere in the Constitution is there any mention of secession from the union of the states. This was not an accident.

New York, Rhode Island, and Virginia ratified the Constitution, they specifically stated that they reserved the right to resume the governmental powers granted to the United States. Their claim to the right of secession was understood and agreed to by the other ratifiers, including George Washington, who presided over the Constitutional Convention and was also a delegate from Virginia.

In his book Life of Webster Sen. Henry Cabot Lodge writes, "It is safe to say that there was not a man in the country, from Washington and Hamilton to Clinton and Mason, who did not regard the new system as an experiment from which each and every State had a right to peaceably withdraw."

A textbook used at West Point before the Civil War, A View of the Constitution, written by Judge William Rawle, states, "The secession of a State depends on the will of the people of such a State."

70 percent of the people in Arizona wants the immigration law signed into law today. If there are calls for the fake in Washington to stop the new law in Arizona then why not leave the Union.

Why not secede? Immigration is not a civil issue. It is an issue of right and wrong. Contrary to the desires of the worst congress in session history, the people of the United States, I am sure is better then 80 percent are for closing the borders.

Why a Brain scan for Terry Lakin and not for Major Hasan

LTC Terry Lakin has tried in vain to get the same verification from our President that he has been asked to provide countless times in his career, for many jobs, and to obtain a security clearance for the trusted positions he has held within the U.S. Armed Forces.

The U.S. Army is – unofficially – suggesting a brain scan for LTC Lakin and a medical evaluation for an officer who announced he would refuse to follow further orders until and unless President Obama documents his constitutional eligibility to be commander in chief.

An Army psychiatrist who reportedly feared an impending war deployment is in custody as the sole suspect in a shooting rampage at Fort Hood in Texas that left 12 dead and 31 wounded, an Army official said Thursday night.

The gunman, Major Nidal Malik Hasan, first said to have been killed, was wounded but alive in a hospital under military guard, said Lt. Gen. Bob Cone at Fort Hood. He was shot four times, and was on a ventilator and unconscious, according to military officials. "I would say his death is not imminent," Cone said.

Was there any suggestion anywhere for a brain scan and a medical evaluation? Where was Major Nidal Malik Hasan, brain scan?

Florida needs to Eliminate Tenure

TALLAHASSEE, FLA -- On Monday, a House committee in Tallahassee approved a bill that would eliminate teacher tenure and would tie teachers' salaries to FCAT scores.

I agree with eliminating tenure because this is an understood, right to work state. However as to tie the teacher's performance to the FCAT, that is inherently wrong. Teachers and union officials have been outspoken in their opposition to the bill, and I concur in part.

Lawmakers contend that a merit pay system would ultimately improve Florida's education system. Not so say I.

Huh! Are they serious.

1.The system is designed to make everyone equal with no regard to student performance or IQ.

2. A child's performance is subject to intelligence, individual, style, preferences, study habits, and government intrusion.

3. The academic system does not push children pass the 4th grade.

4. I note the intentional stupification of the student that is cheated of their education by government schools.

5. The "dumb" down of many of the student body is rampant.

If This bill is about improving our students' education and incentive's effective teaching you need to make serious reforms.

Just a start teacher's need to teach civics, current events, the truth in History, the realities of Mathematics, Love of country, God and each other. Maybe then children education will thrive.

Forget pushing the sense of entitlements, dependency, and wholesale victim certification. Teach to reach out for the high bar, tie the boot strings and earn what you put into it.

Yes you are right, teachers do the heavy lifting, they should be compensated for that. Change the curriculum, give teachers the right to use there first amendment rights.

Let teachers teach, that what they do Mr. John Legg. You need to sponsor bills to work on eliminating socialist government intrusion on our society...like the Federal government unconstitutional health care bill.

If the teachers pay should depend on the student's performance then politicians should be paid based on there performance. If we did that, we would close the deficit.

Ending of Prayer in Public Schools

Madalyn Murray O'Hair (April 13, 1919 – September 29, 1995) was an American atheist activist, and founder of the organization American Atheists and its president from 1963 to 1986. Her son, Jon Garth Murray, was the president of the organization from 1986 to 1995, with her remaining president during these nine years.

A known troublemaker, Murray v. Curlett lawsuit, which led to a landmark Supreme Court ruling ending government sponsored prayer in American public schools. O'Hair later founded American Atheists and became so controversial that in 1964 Life magazine referred to her as "the most hated woman in America."

On August 27, 1995, O'Hair, Jon, and Robin suddenly disappeared. She was murdered, along with her son and granddaughter, by David Roland Waters. It Waters later lead the authorities to the Texas farm where the bodies were buried in 2001. The bodies were minced into pieces and the identities were confirmed by dental records.
