Geert Wilders, Dutch Free Speech Advocate, My Hero

Wilders left the liberal People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD in Dutch), having been a member since 1989, to form his own political party, Groep Wilders, later renamed Partij voor de Vrijheid (PVV or Party for Freedom). He left the liberal party, over a dispute within the VVD in late August 2004 about, among other things, his refusal to share the party's position that EU-accession negotiations must be started with Turkey. Geert Wilders has been in the Tweede Kamer since 1998.

His party program states that Wilders' party is committed to freedom of the individual; Wilders believes that the Netherlands has been held hostage by elitist (mostly social democrat and left-wing liberal) politicians for decades. He claims to want to give it "back to the people", and in this respect he can be seen as a populist.
His political views (and so the ones of the PVV as well) often overlap those of the murdered Pim Fortuyn and his List Pim Fortuyn. There are strong resemblances, certainly on socio-economic issues, to libertarianism. Wilders wants to lower taxes, decrease most welfare, raise highway speed limits and cut state regulations by making it mandatory to scrap two legal rules for every new one to be instated. On the crime issue he has supported a U.S.-style three strikes law with mandatory life sentences after three separate acts of violent crime.
A few weeks after the assassination, Geert Wilders stayed away from regular meetings in parliament for several weeks. Even though a member's presence is not mandatory, it is uncommon not to show up for weeks on end. Wilders has stated that he did this out of concern for his personal security. Having been assigned a new seating position in the parliamentary meeting hall (one further away from the public observation area), he has once again started to attend meetings.

Wilders is under constant security protection because of frequent threats to his life. On 10 November 2004, two suspected terrorists were captured after an hour-long siege of a building in The Hague. They had three grenades and have been accused of planning to murder Geert Wilders as well as then fellow MP Ayaan Hirsi Ali. The men in question were presumed members of what the Dutch intelligence agency, the AIVD, has termed the Hofstadgroep.

In September 2007, a Dutch woman was sentenced a 1-year prison term for sending out more than 100 threatening emails to Wilders. In recent interviews Geert Wilders more than once indicated that the Dutch constitution and European Convention on Human Rights should be changed or temporarily revoked if necessary to better protect the Dutch people from Islamic extremism. He is in favor of stripping criminals with dual nationality of their Dutch citizenship and deporting them to their country of origin. This has led to considerable criticism. The Muhammad cartoons controversy Wilders published the specific set of cartoons on his website (1 February 2006), purportedly in support of the Danish cartoonists and freedom of speech. Following his publication, Wilders stated he had received more than 40 death threats in just two days.

The Dutch newspaper Telegraaf reported in May 2007 that Geert Wilders had been shadowed by the Dutch General Intelligence and Security Service for years, when he was foreign affairs spokesman for the VVD. During that time, Wilders regularly visited with the Israeli embassy in The Hague. [4] Sources in the security service said that the service would have liked to eavesdrop on the conversations between Wilders and the Israeli personnel. [5] The security service denied the allegations, saying it never shadowed or eavesdropped on Wilders.

On 15 December 2007, Wilders was declared politician of the year by NOS-radio, a mainstream Dutch radio station. The parliamentary press praised his ability to dominate political discussion and to attract the debate and to get into publicity with his well-timed one-liners. [7] The editors eventually gave the title to Wilders because he was the only one who scored high both among the press as well as the general public. [8] [9]

In response to Wilders' outspoken statements and his Position on Islam is referring to the increased population of Muslims in the Netherlands, Wilders has said "Take a walk down the street and see where this is going. You no longer feel like you are living in your own country. There is a battle going on and we have to defend ourselves. Before you know it there will be more mosques than churches!" [11]

Later, Wilders suggested that Muslims should 'tear out half of the Koran if they wished to stay in the Netherlands' because it contained 'terrible things' and that Muhammad would 'in these days be hunted down as a terrorist'. These statements caused strong reactions in Muslim countries such as Tunisia, Morocco, and Saudi Arabia. On 8 August 2007, Wilders opined in a letter [14] to the Dutch newspaper De Volkskrant that the Koran, which he called a "fascist book", should be outlawed in the Netherlands, like Adolf Hitler's Mein Kampf. [15] He stated that: "The book incites hatred and killing and therefore has no place in our legal order." On 15 August 2007, a representative of the Prosecutors' Office in Amsterdam declared that "dozens of reports" against Wilders had been filed, and that they were all being considered. Due to this position on Islam, the rapper Appa said he did not care if Wilders would be shot in the head. Wilders then charged him with threatening with death. The rapper Appa denied actual threatening, claiming he just wouldn't care and accusing Wilders of doing the same to Muslims.

Movie on Koran, Wilders is said to publish a movie on the Koran in early 2008. It is unclear who will broadcast the item, but Wilders will also put a copy on the internet site Youtube. In a recent poll 65% of Dutch citizens believe the movie should be broadcast on TV, in particular on the government-funded public broadcasting channels. [18]The Dutch government has already made evacuation plans for Dutch embassies abroad in the case the planned movie would lead to mob violence.

I admire this man because he states the obvious in the Netherlands. I to do not consider then Koran a holy book. I find that the book is absurd, corrupt, debasing,and its an epitaph that is contrary to my very existance and life as I know it. I predict in the coming decades there will be many more people holding this view. Especially as we tire of dodging missiles, bombs, bullets, and other mayhem in the coming years. I am amazed how people are so short sighted. If Immigration is in the forfront of 9 out of 10 people' minds. How is it possible that McCain is on the board as a contender.

It is illegal immigration that is one of the cornerstones of the bankruptcy that is heading our way. The economic depression we are in is fueled by illegal immigration. To look the other way, to do the shoulder shrugging, to allow the santuary of illegal immigration should be a thing of the past, McCain cannot be the president elect.

My grandfather use to tell me, Do not lend an ear to what people say but keep an eyeball on what they do. McCain is the high priest of the amnesty bill that was sent to hell by the voters last year. McCain will, I repeat, will instill amnesty contrary to what the voter believes and wants. McCain says it, no doubt, he is for amnesty.

On Sundays television show with Tim Russert, he said he would sign any bill coming across his desk...legalizing the illegals. What more do you need to see, he just spoke his conviction.
McCain is one of those people in Washington that thinks the voting public is to stupid and its McCain's duty to shove amnesty down the voters throat.

He is right in a way. The people who vote him in, Are so stupid that a man like McCain can surmise that amnesty is the right and just way to handle the illegal immigration question.After all the voters are so stupid to put McCain in the white house, why not give amnesty to the illegals.

In a recent analysis, “Was Barack Obama a Muslim?” THE evidence and found it suggests “Obama was born a Muslim to a non-practicing Muslim father and for some years had a reasonably Muslim upbringing under the auspices of his Indonesian step-father.”

· “Interviews with dozens of former classmates, teachers, neighbors and friends show that Obama was not a regular practicing Muslim when he was in Indonesia” – implying he was an irregularly practicing Muslim.
· “Obama occasionally followed his stepfather to the mosque for Friday prayers, a few neighbors said” – confirming that he did pray in the mosque.
· “Obama’s 3rd-grade teacher at the Catholic school, who lived near the family [said that] ‘Rarely, Barry went to the mosque with Lolo’” – confirming that Obama attended mosque services.

All this matters, for if Obama once was a Muslim, he is now what Islamic law calls a murtadd (apostate), an ex-Muslim converted to another religion who must be executed. Were he elected president of the United States, this status, clearly, would have large potential implications for his relationship with the Muslim world.

The only real change needed in Washington is not in the hands of the President. We will change the stooge there now in 2008 and if we are not careful we could wind up with a replacement stooge like Obama, Hillary, Rudy, and the king dunce Ron Paul.
The change needed in Washington is in the hands of the Voters not the President. DON'T MARCH ON WASHINGTON TO HAVE YOUR VOICE HEARD, MARCH OVER TO THE VOTING BOOTH, get even vote for anyone but the known do nothings. We need to get rid of the permanent fixtures in Washington.

Vote out the Harry Ried, Pelosi, Boxer, Fienstien, Dick Turbin, Leaky Leahy, who gets under cover people killed. As a New Yorker I find it hard to believe Chuck Schummer gets 75% of the vote. Who runs against him? A stiff out of the morgue. Really the demographics is not there, for 75% of the election.

Change, yes the voters need to make that change not Obama. You know what troubles me is why the big deal on the media over the Mormon Mr Romney. No one hammers the facts that Obama, and IN HIS FORMATIVE YEARS, STUDIED AS A MUSLIM.

The Justice Department opened a full criminal investigation Wednesday into the destruction
of CIA interrogation videotapes.

Attorney General Michael Mukasey announced that he was appointing John Durham, a federal
prosecutor in Connecticut, to oversee the investigation of a case that has challenged the Bush administration's controversial handling of terrorism suspects.

The CIA acknowledged last month that in 2005 it destroyed videos of officers using tough interrogation methods while questioning two al-Qaida suspects. The acknowledgment sparked a
congressional inquiry and a preliminary investigation by Justice into whether the CIA violated any laws or obstructed congressional inquiries such as the one led by the Sept. 11 Commission. So what,and why is this garbage allowed to continue.

"The Department's National Security Division has recommended, and I have concluded, that here is a basis for initiating a criminal investigation of this matter, and I have taken steps to begin that investigation," Mukasey said in a statement released Wednesday. Your wrong. You need to do whatever it takes to extract information stupid.

Durham, who has served with the Justice Department for 25 years, has a reputation as one of the nation's most relentless prosecutors. He was appointed to investigate the FBI's use of mob informants in Boston, an investigation that sent former FBI agent John Connolly to prison. What does that have to do with the CIA interrogation methods, is beyond me.

"Nobody in this country is above the law, an FBI agent or otherwise," Durham said in 2002 after Connolly's conviction. Really, how about the illegals using everyone Else's social. How about dirty money in campaign financing of the Clinton's, or how about Fienstien's husband and the military contacts insider trading. I could go on and on.

Mukasey made the move after prosecutors from the Eastern District of Virginia, which includes the CIA's headquarters in Langley, Va., removed themselves from the case. CIA Inspector General John L. "No politics whatsoever. It's going to be completely by the book and he's going to let the chips fall where they may."

The CIA already has agreed to open its files to congressional investigators, who have begun reviewing documents at the agency's Virginia headquarters. The House Intelligence Committee has ordered Jose Rodriguez, the former CIA official who directed the tapes be destroyed, to appear at a hearing Jan. 16.

Rodriguez's attorney, Robert S. Bennett, had no comment."He'll suck the political air right out of the investigation and just go after the facts," said Mike Clark, a retired FBI agent who investigated Rowland. "He's going to do it his way and just keep digging." He will find nothing.

In June 2005, U.S. District Judge Henry H. Kennedy, who was overseeing a case in which
U.S.-held terror suspects were challenging their detention at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, ordered
the Bush administration to safeguard "all evidence and information regarding the torture,
mistreatment and abuse of detainees now at the United States Naval Base at Guantanamo Bay."

Five months later, the CIA destroyed the interrogation videos. The recordings involved suspected terrorists Abu Zubaydah and Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri. The Justice Department has argued to Kennedy that the videos weren't covered by his order because the two men were being held in secret CIA prisons overseas, not at Guantanamo Bay.

The tapes' destruction has riled members of the commission that investigated the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks. In an opinion piece in Wednesday's New York Times, commission chairmen Tom Kean and Lee Hamilton accused the CIA of failing to respond to requests for information about the 9/11 plot.Anyone at the agency who knew about the tapes and failed to disclose them "obstructed our investigation," said Kean, a former Republican governor of New Jersey, and Hamilton, a former Democratic House member from Indiana. The CIA has asserted that Kean and Hamilton's panel had not been specific enough in their requests and they should have asked for interrogation videos if that is what they wanted.

On Capitol Hill, the House Intelligence Committee wants to know who authorized the tapes'
destruction; who in the CIA, Justice Department and White House knew about it and when, and
why Congress was not fully informed.The committee, which had threatened to subpoena the records if they do not get access, also wants to know exactly what was shown on the tapes.

Since leaving the White House shortly before Christmas, President Bush has not addressed the
tapes' destruction. Before going to Camp David, then his ranch in Crawford, Texas, Bush said
he was confident that investigations by Congress and the Justice Department "will end up
enabling us all to find out what exactly happened."

He repeated his assertion that his "first recollection" of being told about the tapes and
their destruction was when CIA Director Michael Hayden briefed him on it in early December.

"Leaky" Leahy, D-Vt., chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, said Mukasey's announcement proved that lawmakers "were right to be concerned with possible obstruction of
justice and obstruction of Congress."

Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass the Mark Spitz of the senate., also lauded Mukasey's decision to launch a criminal inquiry. "The rule of law requires no less," Kennedy said. "Those tapes may have been evidence of a crime, and their destruction may have been a crime in itself." A Crime! ts a crime this hypocrite is still in publice service, may the soul of Mary Jo Kopechne rest in peace.

Sen. Joe Biden, a Delaware Democrat seeking his party's nomination for president, (fat chance) said a criminal investigation is no surprise, but suggested that Mukasey should remove himself from oversight of the investigation and appoint a special counsel "completely independent and free from political influence."

All this is a waste of taxpayer dollars, this investigation will go no where.

Ron Paul a permanent fixture and a Presidential Prop

"Meet the Press," Republican presidential hopeful, Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, appears Sunday, Dec. 23, 2007 on "Meet the Press" at the NBC studios in Washington.is no wonder that when Reagan challenged Ford some four years earlier for the GOP nomination, Paul was one of only a handful of sitting congressmen who supported Reagan's effort.

American idiots, wake up, Ron Paul is a moron. What is the matter with people. Millions of dollars for the campaign of this protegee' of FRED FLINTSTONE. I am amazed at how people have become mentally deficient in the America of the 21st century.

Paul has managed to become the first Republican candidate I've seen since 1980 that can draw huge crowds so devoted to their candidate that they seem almost cult-like in their zeal. Believe it or not, that's what we thought of the Reagan crowds that gathered early in his bid for president in 1980. Ron Paul is compared to Reagan. Reagan is dead and gone. Why is there so much talk about reaganesque politics, is beyond me. I got less back on my income tax returns under Reagan then any time in my life under any other president.

Reagan faked military ferocity at Grenada. According to my memory, Reagan was moot after the bombing of the U.S. Marines barracks in Beirut, in October 1983, in which over 267 Marines were killed. It was the "final nail in the coffin" for the Reagan peace initiative. By March 30, 1984, under intense Congressional pressure, Reagan pulled the United States out of the UN multinational force that he had helped create. He let slide the Islamo Facsists.

I remember this under "The Gipper's watch"....Thus everything that could be done to set up the sacrifice was now complete:

[I] all 300 Marines at the airport were told to sleep in the same building,
[2] signs were posted at the gates announcing that all weapons inside were unloaded,
[3] gates were left open and without adequate barriers,
[4] the sentries were forbidden to load their weapons, what a joke.

We had delegated to him the grim task of sacrificing those Marines, and he had promised us he would carry out our sacrifice. Reagan was a schmuck, I am sorry ladies and gentlemen.

The fact is that Reagan tamed both his rhetoric and the implementation of his agenda to meet the realities of the presidency. My guess is that were Ron Paul to have such a chance, he would inevitably do the same and worse in other areas of his administration. Disgusting if you ask me.... but what can you expect from the 21st century America.


I still believe that between the Republican Party's longing to appear "mainstream" and the national political media's fear of appearing to give in to "fringe elements," that Paul's quest for the nomination fall short in the end...But as I have said before, Lord help both parties if he decides to run as a third-party candidate and that is extremely problematic.

In a speech that year, Reagan expressed concerns about America losing its monetary independence. And, eerily, he alluded to fears about foreign nations owning American currency.

As I try to remind my friends who were around in 1980, Reagan was considered by the mainstream Republican establishment to be as kooky as many label Paul as being.

What Paul lacks is Reagan's movie-star looks, a good line of crap, precision delivery of his lines, and the credibility that comes with having been governor of California. Even without those attributes, Paul has managed to become a candidate that they seems almost cult-like in their zeal. Believe it or not, that's what we thought of the Reagan crowds that gathered early in his bid for president in 1980.

Americans are now more idiotic then ever and that's what scares me. Can anyone who is a thinker imagine if Ron Paul won the presidency. OH no worse...how about Hillary, or the sneaky Muslim, christian wanna be, or how about the court jester, doll face Edwards.

You know what America stop building bathrooms with foot baths for the heathens and finance more churches because we need to be united in prayer. God is the only one who can save us from the presidential props in 2008.

Tom Tancredo was not appreciated.

The latest polls show Tancredo getting about 2% in Iowa and 1% in New Hampshire. He had a few "protest votes" early on, but now people are getting behind candidates they think really have a chance to win - and Tancredo's not one of them what a shame.

You can already sense that he's getting virtually no press time: the national news media - even his former friends who used to give him publicity - are focusing on the real candidates now.

And there's really not much else outrageous for Tancredo to say. Once you've advocated bombing religious sites as the centerpiece of your foreign policy, I mean really, what else can you do?
